Admission Information for Postgraduates Project of Chinese Government Scholarship in Beihang University

Beihang University (BUAA), formerly called Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, was founded in 1952 and was the first university in aerospace technology in China. Since 1950s, BUAA has been one of the 16 state key universities of China. Through more than 50 years development BUAA has grown into a science and technology university with aerospace features, combining disciplines in science, engineering, liberal arts, law, economics, management and education, while maintaining the leading role in technology. At present 24,000 students are enrolled in BUAA and among them over 10,000 are graduates. There are 49 fields led to doctoral degree, 144 fields led to master degree and 48 specialties of bachelor degree.

BUAA is qualified to admit all kinds of foreign students, including the students sponsored by Chinese Government Scholarship and accepts over 700 foreign students from more than 40 countries annually. Among them over 200 are studying for master or doctoral degree and more than 400 are studying Chinese Language in Chinese Training Center of BUAA. English or Chinese is used as courses and instruction language for the master and doctoral programs, as well as the senior students.

BUAA is one of the most famous universities in China equipped with advanced laboratories and teaching facilities. The campus of BUAA is adjacent to the High-Tech Park of Beijing and is notable for its beautiful environment, convenient transportation and complete service, including various sports facilities as well as bank, post office, canteen etc. in students' daily life.

According to the resolution by the Ministry of Education PRC, Beihang University has become the university which can recruit the foreign students for the Chinese Government Scholarship since 2008. All the overseas students, who want to study for Master¡¯s Degree and Doctoral Degree in Beihang University, can apply for the Postgraduates Project of Chinese Government Scholarship through Beihang University. The application information and requirements for Postgraduates Project of Chinese Government Scholarship are listed as follow:

1. Applicants can check the information of BUAA and choose the specialties through the website of International School of BUAA (http//is.buaa.edu.cn);
2. Qualification of applicants, content and standards of scholarship and the required application documents will be carried out according to the Item "ELIGIBILITY","DETAILS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP" and "APPLICATION MATERIALS" in Application Procedures for Chinese Government Scholarship. For the detailed information and the Application Form download, please log on the website of International School of BUAA or China Scholarship Council (http://www.csc.edu.cn);
3. The instruction language for the Postgraduates Project of Chinese Government Scholarship in BUAA will be English or Chinese. Applicants are required to choose or note the instruction language in Item 4 of Application Form For Chinese Government Scholarship. One year Chinese training program will be arranged for the students who can not take courses in English;
4. Applicants are required to send the applications documents to Foreign Student Affairs Office of International School, Beihang University before May 20. The Student Affairs Office will offer the consultation services to the applicants;

5. The results of admission will be publicized before July 15. And the Admission Notice will be mailed to the successful applicants.
