  • Chinese Language Training Center of Beihang University (CLTCBU)

    CLTCBU was established in 1994 and attached to International School of Beihang University. CTCBU is noted for its excellent and experienced teachers and staffs and boasts update multi-media teaching facilities for students. CLTCBU provides foreigners with various training programs and syllabi, including fundamental Chinese, oral Chinese, scientific and technological Chinese etc. In order to promote well-understanding of Chinese culture, history, society and tradition for foreigners, CLTCBU offers a lot of interesting and colorful activities. For example, linguistic practice, visiting scenic spots, trip outside of Beijing and so on. Several thousands foreign students, coming from more than 20 countries, such as Korea, the U.S.A, Japan, Australia£¬Indonesia, French, Germany etc, have graduated from CLTCBU since 1994. A great number of students have achieved excellent results and won the qualification to study in China for higher education. CLTCBU sincerely welcomes students from all over the world to join it.

      Qualifications

      People who are between 15-60 years of age and are interested in learning Chinese will be eligible, if they are in good health and are willing to observe the laws and decrees of the People's Republic of China as well as the regulations of BUAA.

      The Aims of The Training Program

      Chinese Training Center regards instructing students in basic and practical Chinese as its main purpose and focuses on comprehensively improving the students' listening, speaking reading and writing abilities, thus equipping them to challenge their career and participate in the HSK test.

      The Teaching Program and Language Practice

      (1) Long-Term Classes: one semester or more
      1. Course Arrangement: The courses will be given from Monday to Friday, about 20 class hours per week.
      2. Class Division: BUAA Chinese Training Center offers various classes for trainees with different levels, including elementary, intermediate, and advanced ones. An entrance examination will be arranged to the applicants after enrollment and students will be divided into different classes according to their Chinese levels. There will be about 15 students in each class in general.
      3. Curricular Arrangement: The main courses are Intensive Reading, Chinese speaking, Listening, Newspaper Reading, Writing, Audio-visual and speaking, Calligraphy, Introduction to China as well as a class for HSK instruction.
      4. Language Practice for Long£­Term Students: BUAA offers linguistic practice trip outside of Beijing during the spring and autumn vacations. BUAA also organizes weekend trips to scenic spots and places of historical interest around Beijing. There are other gatherings and activities such as symposium with Chinese students, watching Peking opera and acrobatics.
      5. Certificate: At the end of the study, certificate will be awarded by CTCBU to the participants whose performance is satisfactory.
      (2) Short-term Classes: the training period varies from 3 weeks to 5 weeks 2008 winter program
      1. Course Arrangement: The courses are given from Monday to Friday.
      2. Language Practice: BUAA holds activities such as visiting Beijing¡¯s scenic spots and places of historical interest, participating in a symposium with Chinese students, watching performances and shopping.
      3. Certificate: Certificates from the CTCBU will be awarded to the participants after the training.

      Application and Deadline

      Long Term Classes: The application deadline for the spring semester is the end of December. The class will begin at the end of February. The application deadline for the autumn semester is the end of June, and the class will begin at the end of August. But the application will be ended once all seats taken.

      Enrollment and Visas

      The applicants for admission of Chinese language program can complete all application procedures on line through this system; or fill out Chinese Language Program Application and then mail it directly to the Foreign Affairs Office of BUAA.

      The Chinese Language Training Center of BUAA will accept application from both individuals and groups. The applicants must submit the ¡°Application Form¡± to BUAA two months before the classes begin. After receiving the Admission Notice and JW202 form, the applicants can apply for an ¡°X¡± or "F" visa from the embassy and consulate of the PRC in the their own countries (Applicants who have an ¡°X¡± visa need to bring the ¡°Health Examination Result¡±, for the convenience of the residence procedure in China.).

      From Autumn of 2004 CLTCBU accepts application on line and the website address is www.buaa.edu.cn International Students.

      Registration

      The registration is 3 days before the classes begin. (Check the Admission Notice For specific time). CLTCBU checks and verifies the Admission Notices, JW202 form, passport, and handles the procedure for admission.

      1. The applicants should pay the tuition fee at the registration time by RMB and the tuition fee will not be reduced or refunded for students who arrive after the term has begun or leave before the term has concluded. The accommodation fee will be paid in one lump sum at the beginning of semester.
      2. The tuition fee for long term classes covers lectures and textbooks.
      3. The tuition fee for short-term training program covers only lectures, textbooks and the Board fee is around 60 RMB.
      4. No 1 Dormitory is equipped with a bathroom and kitchen, TV, refrigerator, Air-conditioner, telephone, safe etc. No 2 Dormitory is equipped with a bathroom, TV, refrigerator, Air-conditioner, telephone, etc. Campus Hotel is equipped with a bathroom, TV, refrigerator, Air-conditioner, telephone etc.
