In order to enrich the campus life, promote the communication and understanding among International students and Increase the understanding of Chinese cultural and society, International School will hold the “China Impression Beihang Impression ” 2016 Photography Competition . The requirements and details of the Photo Contest are as follows:

Item One: Qualification and Themes of Photo Works

1. Qualification of Participants : all international students studying in Beihang University and staff engaged in the teaching , management and volunteering work for international students .

2. Themes of Photographic Works

Themes of photographic works are classified as Scenery and Human Culture.

Scenery theme includes the scenic spots, cultural and historic relics, natural scenery, and campus views etc.

Human Culture covers Chinese culture and Chinese study, local customs and practices, human landscape and cultural heritage, social and campus life, as well as moments of various figures etc.

Item Two: Requirement of Works

1. Electronic files should be used in submitting photographic works. The size of photos taken by digital cameras should be more than 2000x1000 pixels. Photos taken by films should be scanned in the format of JPEG and data quantity should be no less than 1.5MB.

2. Photographic works are not allowed to be processed except the simple adjust of color and contrast or crop . Qualification would be cancelled if the works made by computer composed, PS or plagiarizing a work created by other were found.

3. Photographic works should be taken inside China within recent five years. Each competitor can submit 2photos at most in each theme.

4. Photographic works should be submitted by electronic files to Room 207 of International School or to the Email-box of International School through Email (sunyanbuaa@buaa.edu.cn) before 15 Nov.,2016. Each work should be saved in one folder. Please use one Word Document to note the subject of photo, shoot place and shoot time, name of competitor, telephone number, Email address and students ID number. All the submitted works will not be retuned whether the works are awarded or not. Please reserve the backups in advance.

Item Three: Item Three: Evaluation and Prize

The Award Committee will evaluate and award the works made by teachers and students separately. The final result will be published around 20 December, 2016 and the excellent works will be exhibited in the propaganda windows of International School.

Awarding grades are classified as first prize, second prize, third prize, and nominated prize in the Scenery and Human Culture separately. The award for the first prize, second prize, and third prize is 800 Yuan, 500 Yuan, and 200 Yuan respectively, as well as the prizes for all nominated works with award certificate.

Item Four: Copyright

International School will have right to use all the photographic works of competition without compensation. If issues of law on portraiture right, piracy or others referred, competitor will take the responsibility.
