Established in 2008, the School of Chemistry has distinguished itself as one of the newest schools achieving the most outstanding performance in talent recruitment and scientific and technological innovation. It hosts doctoral and master's degree programs, as well as a postdoctoral research station in Chemistry as a primary discipline, alongside a National First-Class Undergraduate Program. The Chemistry discipline has entered the top 0.1% globally in the ESI rankings, marking its status as a world-class discipline.
The School focuses on research areas such as Bioinspired Interfacial Chemistry, Chemistry of Lightweight and High-Strength Materials, Energy Chemistry, and Precision and Intelligent Synthetic Chemistry, driving fundamental innovation and pioneering technological breakthroughs. It is supported by several key platforms, including: The "111" Project Base for Bioinspired Intelligent Interfacial Science and Technology, The Key Laboratory of Bioinspired Intelligent Interfacial Science and Technology (Ministry of Education), The Chemistry Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology), The Platform for Collaborative Education and Research in Precise In-situ Chemical Reaction Studies and Characterization, The School's Analytical and Testing Center.
Furthermore, the School plays a full and active role in the co-construction of the National Key Laboratory of Bioinspired Interface Materials Science.
Aiming at the forefront of global science and technology and addressing major national urgent needs, the School has produced numerous significant advancements in fundamental research, with many major original findings published in top-tier international journals such as Nature and Science.
Guided by the vision of "building a world-class School of Chemistry with distinctive aerospace characteristics," and upholding the educational philosophy of "strengthening foundations, emphasizing practice, valuing quality, and fostering innovation," the School is dedicated to cultivating innovative and interdisciplinary talents equipped for careers in scientific research, management, and beyond. Its unique development plan and vibrant research atmosphere provide an excellent environment for learning and inquiry, resulting in remarkable educational outcomes. The School has supplied a large number of outstanding graduates to the aerospace sector, other vital areas of the national economy, enterprises, public institutions, government departments, and research institutes. In recent years, the initial employment rate for its graduates has consistently exceeded 98%.
The School enrolls doctoral and master's students in the Chemistry discipline.
