The major of Aircraft Quality and Reliability Engineering is based on the research and development of large-scale aerospace products. It aims to cultivate high-level, composite talents who can apply the theories and methods of systems engineering and master the quality, reliability, maintainability, testability, supportability, and safety of products. This major has been listed as a characteristic major in higher education in Beijing and has been selected into the Ministry of Education’s Excellent Engineers Program. It is designed to meet the design and research needs of products represented by aerospace vehicles, and to cultivate talents who love the scientific cause, have an international vision, excellent scientific spirit and engineering quality, are good at systematic thinking and knowledge integration, and can use the basic knowledge and professional skills of quality and reliability engineering to innovatively solve complex engineering problems. These talents should have high comprehensive qualities and strong practical ability.

The major of “Safety Engineering” is aimed at the characteristics of complex systems, infrastructure, and large structural products. Based on the idea of system safety engineering, it focuses on ensuring the safety of production itself and reducing the risk of accidents. It aims to cultivate high-level, composite talents who master the theory of safety characteristics formation in the research and development process of production and the engineering technology methods of safety in the usage process, and who meet the needs of safety technology and management in the research and operation of complex production systems. Graduates of this major can directly pursue master’s degrees in the first-level discipline of Safety Science and Engineering in the college. They can also work in scientific research and production units in professional fields such as aerospace, transportation, communication electronics, and network information, and engage in design, manufacturing, management, and research related to quality and reliability engineering.
