Why Beihang

The COMAC-Beihang Commercial Aircraft Innovation Center (Hangzhou) was officially established on January 19, 2024. Academician Guanghui Wu, chief designer of the COMAC C919, and Academician Jinwu Xiang from Beihang University, were appointed as deans. Professor Yingchun Chen, the chief designer of the COMAC C929, was appointed as the chief scientist. The research center is staffed by a distinguished team, including one national-level talent, eight professors, nineteen associate professors, and twenty postdoctoral researchers. The COMAC-Beihang Commercial Aircraft Innovation Center (Hangzhou) is dedicated to key areas including aircraft design, airworthiness, flight testing, and operational maintenance. It comprises several specialized centers, including the Intelligent Flight Test Center, the Airworthiness and Safety Center, and the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center. The research center conducts interdisciplinary and cutting-edge technological research, supporting the development of airworthiness design, validation, and equipment R&D in transportation disciplines, as well as flight testing and advanced manufacturing in aerospace disciplines. The research center is dedicated to creating a high-level platform capable of undertaking significant missions and major projects, contributing to the advancement of China's aircraft.
