International Research Center of Complexity Sciences

The International Research Center for Complexity Sciences is an interdisciplinary research platform dedicated to deeply integrating fundamental theoretical research with practical applications, and creating an open and inclusive research ecosystem.

Leading by Nobel Prize Laureate Prof. Giorgio Parisi as Chief Scientist, with a core research team composed of distinguished scholars including members of the Academia Europaea. It is dedicated to advancing research in complexity sciences and related fields. We bring together researchers from across disciplines: computer science, physics, sociology, biology, philosophy, and more. We believe that solving complex problems requires diverse perspectives and a spirit of collaboration. By establishing partnerships with universities, technology enterprises, government agencies and social organizations in Asia, Europe and North America, we are committed to transforming cutting-edge ideas into practical actions, and generating tangible real-world impacts in key areas such as urban systems, healthcare and ecological environment, business and innovation, and digital society.

We also see education as a core mission—training the next generation of students to think critically, creatively, and systemically about the world they live in.

Statistical Physics and Disordered Systems

Fundamental theoretical issues of emergent, disordered systems and complex energy landscapes are studied. To inspire new approaches to artificial intelligence and provide insights for solving challenging computational problems.

Both Nature and Life abound with phenomena that exhibit apparent randomness and unpredictability. The aim of our research is to employ the immense experience of its scientific leaders in the physics of disorder to invent and develop methods of Nonlinear Mathematics and advanced Statistical Physics to find the hidden laws that govern chaotic and disordered systems to reach better control and predictability in our technological environment and in our life.

Complex Systems and Intelligence

The research of complex systems and artificial intelligence is committed to the future AI era, studying the complex interactive system of symbiosis between humans and AI agents, and promoting the development of technological innovation.

Here, we focus on this intersection: how Complex Systems and Artificial Intelligence can be combined to shape a smarter, more adaptive, and more human-centered future.

Scientific Economics and Complex Networks

Economic Fitness and Complexity (EFC) is the recent economic discipline and methodology developed by the group of LP in the past ten years together with several collaborators from various institutions. EFC makes use and develops the modern techniques of data analysis to provide a scientific basis to the economic analysis in order to build economic models based on the Science of Complex Systems with special attention to quantitative tests and specific predictions.

Swarm Intelligence and Aerospace Network

The research on bionic swarm intelligence and aerospace networks focuses on the direction of swarm intelligence collaborative communication, heterogeneous cluster cross-domain interconnection, and resilience reconstruction of air-space complex networks, and studies the realization of cross-domain interconnection of heterogeneous intelligent air-space networks.
