Notice on Applying for the Outstanding International Students Scholarship of Chinese Government, 2019-2020

To encourage the outstanding international students to complete the study successfully, Outstanding International Students Scholarship supported by the Chinese Ministry of Education in the year 2019/2020 is launched now.


Quotas and Awards:

1. Fixed Quota: 4 current self-supported (not obtained the CSC scholarship) postgraduates and undergraduates who are studying in the grade (year) 2 or above.
Awards: Certificate and One-off Scholarship:
RMB 18000 Yuan for undergraduate, RMB 30000 Yuan for postgraduate

2. Open Quota: 3 current postgraduates and undergraduates with CSC scholarship who are studying in the grade (year) 2 or above to participate in national level selection (a total of 100 quotas in the nation). Awards: Certificate only, no scholarship.


Requirement:

Applicants shall be excellent in the studies and behaviors both.

In addition to the above basic requirements, the applicants who meet one of the following two requirements will be given priority:

(1) Undergraduate: having excellent academic performance; Postgraduate: having outstanding research ability and academic achievements, published at least 2 papers in SCI original periodicals;

(2) Playing an outstanding role in spreading excellent traditional Chinese culture, promoting cultural communication, or have made outstanding contributions to public welfare undertakings.


Application Procedure:

1. Make the online application for Chinese Government Scholarship through the website of CSC (http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/). Submit and print the Application Form.

Please do note that the “Program Category” should be “Type C”, the “Agency Number” of Beihang University is 10006, and the “Study Duration” is 2019.9.1-2020.7.15.

2. Proof of study

3. Transcript issued by the Educational Affairs Office;

4. Recommendation letter from your class advisor (undergraduates) or supervisor(postgraduates)

5. Essay on the subject of “My Story in China” (the title is unlimited) focusing on the experiences during your study and life in China, in English or Chinese, not less than 800 words.

6. Certificate of paper retrieval or acceptance, or monograph publication.

7. Certificates of patents or prizes in national, provincial and municipal competitions;

8. Certificate of holding the post of student cadre or association;

9. Reports or certificates that have played an outstanding role in spreading excellent traditional Chinese culture, promoting cultural communication, or have made outstanding contributions to public welfare undertakings.


All the documents above are required to be submitted to the Office 206, International School before 17:00 October 18, 2019.

Undergraduates: Ms MENG, Postgraduates: Ms HUANG

No additional document will be accepted after the application deadline.

All application documents will be reported to the Chinese Ministry of Education for the assessment and approval after the review by the International School.
