Introduction of School of Economics and Management

Beihang University School of Economics and Management (BHSEM), founded in 1956, is the earliest established economics and management faculty and possesses the most provincial and ministerial key laboratories among universities of science and engineering in China. BHSEM is one of the first eight schools to have a national key discipline in management science and engineering, and supported by national top university programs “211 Project”, “985 Project”, and “Double First-Class” initiative.

BHSEM currently has four first-level disciplines, including Management Science and Engineering, Applied Economy, Business Administration, and Statistics, as well as nine departments. BHSEM offers 7 PhD doctoral degree conferring programs and one postdoctoral program. It has 122 faculty members including 45 professors, 64 associate professors, 13 lectures and 66 doctoral supervisors. There are 2452 enrolled students in the school including 253 international students.

BHSEM owns Low-carbon Intelligent Governance Lab (first batch of Philosophy and Social Science Lab of Ministry of Education), Data Intelligence and Management Key Laboratory of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Complex System Analysis and Managerial Decision Support Key Laboratory of Ministry of Education and Beijing Key Laboratory of Emergency Support Simulation Technologies for City Operations.

BHSEM has proactively embraced an open educational principle, gradually establishing a comprehensive and multi-level international exchange framework that continuously enhances its global influence. It has established cooperation with more than 20 top universities and research institutions in the world in areas such as student exchange programs, scientific research partnerships, and faculty mobility initiatives.
