Beihang University is one of the earliest Chinese universities to conduct research in cyberspace security. The university established undergraduate programs in Information Protection and Information Security in 1999 and 2010 respectively. In January 2016, Beihang became one of the first universities authorized to confer doctoral degrees in the primary discipline of cyberspace security. In August 2017, responding to President Xi Jinping's call to "transform China from a major cyber power into a cyber superpower," Beihang integrated teaching and research teams in cyberspace security from various colleges and officially established the School of Cyberspace Security. In September 2017, Beihang was approved as one of the first "Demonstration Project Universities for First-Class Cybersecurity College Construction" jointly accredited by the Cyberspace Administration of China and the Ministry of Education. The school comprises three part-time academicians, six national leading talents, eight national-level young talents, one national cybersecurity outstanding talent, and one outstanding teacher. Adhering to the educational philosophy of "solidifying foundations, expanding practice, enhancing capabilities, and pursuing innovation," the school is dedicated to cultivating students' international perspectives and problem-solving abilities. In recent years, over 20 international students have gained development opportunities through overseas study programs.
