Tianmushan Laboratory

Tianmushan Laboratory is a new research and development (R&D) institution in Zhejiang Province, which is supported by Hangzhou International Innovation Institute of Beihang University and Beihang University. It focuses on the national strategic needs, the "Leading Manufacturing Province" plan of Zhejiang Province and the "14th Five-Year Plan" for the Development of Aerospace Industry of Zhejiang Province, with the goal of achieving breakthroughs in the aspects of basic theories and technical principles. There are currently five world-class and domestic leading research centers, including the Green Civil Aircraft Intelligent Design Center, Green Civil Aviation Engine Integrated Design Center, High-performance Materials and Advanced Manufacturing Center, Intelligent Flight Management, Airborne Energy Integrated Center and Research and Testing Center of Low-altitude Transportation Equipment Technology. Aiming at the forefront of aviation science and technology in the world, a series of significant original innovation research with international impacts are conducted to overcome the "bottleneck" of key technologies and to achieve innovation in the core technology of aviation field as well as leading capacity of aviation science and technology. The laboratory will facilitate industry-university-research integration, build up the source of innovation and talent highland in the global aviation field, and the leading aviation scientific research platform in China. It will also provide supports for Zhejiang Province to become one of the strong aviation manufacturing provinces in China.

Electronic Information focuses on the forefront of avionics, encompassing research in airborne systems, communication and navigation, signal processing, and artificial intelligence. The curriculum is designed to cultivate core competencies in avionics system design, integration n, and innovation, establishing a solid foundation for careers in UAVs, intelligent control, and information and communication technologies. Mechanics specializes in aeronautics, with research concentrations in aircraft design, advanced propulsion systems, and intelligent manufacturing. Through a rigorous curriculum, students will develop a solid foundation in aeronautical engineering principles and acquire the expertise to address complex technical challenges in aircraft and sophisticated aeronautical systems. Graduates will be well-prepared for diverse and promising career trajectories within the global aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors. Material and Chemical Industry focuses on some key high-performance aero-materials including high-temperature structural materials, light alloys, composites, and high-temperature protective coating materials, which aims to develop intelligent designing and manufacturing technologies and reveal processing-composition-structure-properties relationship for advanced materials, and to cultivate high-level interdisciplinary engineering and management talents. Energy and Power is a professional degree program linked to qualifications in the aerospace and energy power fields. It primarily trains applied and interdisciplinary high-level engineering and research professionals for areas such as UAV hybrid power systems, specifically including hybrid power system design, energy management strategies, and advanced propulsion technologies. Communications and TransportationResearch Focus on Autonomous perception and control technologies for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and autonomous vehicles. This includes the development of unmanned systems capable of self-perception, path planning, and autonomous task execution in complex environments, with the aim of enhancing the intelligence and automation of transportation systems.
